Hong Kong Outstanding Student Service Ambassadors Award Program

The aforesaid program aims at enabling our secondary students to demonstrate their commitment to reach out and serve the community, their readiness to collaborate with others and their ability of applying their knowledge to doing services for the betterment of the society.  Schools are invited to organize student teams to participate in the program.  Each participating student team is required to design and implement a project which will address one of the following service areas with innovative ideas and application of knowledge from STEM or other subjects where appropriate: (i) care for the environment; (i) care for the underprivileged; (iii) fight against diseases or addressing mental health problems; and (iv) manifestation of civic responsibilities.

Each participating team is to submit a report after completing its service project.  The Judging Panel will select the teams with outstanding performance.

Student teams with outstanding performance will be honored with awards.  The cash awards and trophies will be contributed by Rotary International District 3450.  Rotarians will also render assistance to teachers and students of the participating schools and share their experience in service projects where appropriate.  The program will offer an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their awareness to issues in the community which require attention, and to be better prepared for their future development.

How to participate

Through their schools or an association of secondary students to which they belong (including uniformed groups), students can form teams to design and implement a service project addressing one of the following service areas with innovative ideas and the application of knowledge in STEM or other subjects:

  • Care for the environment
  • Care for the underprivileged
  • Fight against disease or addressing mental health problems
  • Manifestation of civic responsibilities

Awards and Prizes

For the Best Student Team among all participating teams, its team members will be recognized as the Most Outstanding Student Service Ambassadors, and the Team will be given a cash prize of HK$15,000 and trophy

Student teams with best performance in any of the four service areas will be given a cash prize of HK$3,000 and trophy

The first and second runners-up in any of the four service areas will be given a cash prize of HK$1,000 and certificate of recognition
