District Rotary Foundation Committee
In November, we celebrate Rotary Foundation Month and the contributions our members make to their communities and around the world. And 27 November is Giving Tuesday, a global online movement for charities and individuals to celebrate and encourage giving. (Message from The Rotary Foundation)

This month November, our District has done a great job achieving a historical high record of donations to The Rotary Foundation at US$910,451.00 in 4 months' time since July 2018.

With the honor of the presence of RI Trustee Chair PRIP Ron D. Burton and Mrs. Jetta Burton, our Intercity Meeting was held on Friday, 9 November, 2018 at Sheraton Hotel. Witnessed by 420 fellow Rotarians we recognized 4 new AKS members including CP Patrick Poon & Mrs. Wendy Poon as Foundation Circle, PP Paul Iec as Chair's Circle, DG YC & Mrs. Linda Ho, and also Rotarian Or Sik Ling & Mrs. Or as Trustees Circle. We also recognized 4 new Major Donors Level 3, 4 new Major Donors Level 2, and 9 new Major Donors Level 1, 1 new Bequest Society Member Level 1, 12 new PHS members, 159 new PHFs including 47 Presidents, 4 new Benefactors, and 66 EREY clubs (paid and committed) all on stage. We have also recongized both Area 1 and Area 4 as Outstanding Areas for all their club presidents having achieved PHFs as well as 100% EREY clubs committed this year.

We must express our gratitude to 56 clubs with their Red Boxes monies in a total of US$25,000.00 donated to help an urgent call from D3201, Kerala, India for a flooding and damaging area in early part of this year.

On Saturday morning, 10 November, 2018, we held a District Rotary Foundation Seminar at Baptist University with over 90 Rotarians attended. Our guest of honor Trustee Chair PRIP Ron Burton again shared with us his wisdom on End Polio and updates of TRF.

Mini Doctors for a Day
This is the biggest event our Club has ever held to date. We had the collaboration with over 3 different association, Hong Kong Alliance for Rare Disease, New Home Association and Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. Over 30 volunteers helped out at the service and more than 30 kids were benefitted from the event this time.

The core value to todays service was to draw public awareness to all partipated parties in reaching out for one another that comes down to Rotary’s slogan to “Service Above Self”.

Sincere thanks to Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital for offering such valuable experience to all the kids and teenagers.
