District and Global Grants Application
Dear Club Presidents,
District Grant Application Deadline 26 August 2016
I am pleased to inform you that the District Grants for Rotary year 2016-17 is now available for your application and the deadline is 26 August, 2016 (Friday).
District Grant enables our District to support local and international projects, scholarships, vocational training teams, and related travel. In Rotary year 2016-17 total District Grants funds available is about US$105,387; US$30,000 of the District Grants has been reserved for scholarship and vocational training teams. The balance of US$75,387 is to be used in funding some district or club projects. The maximum grant per application is US$6,000 or 50% of proposed budget of the project, whichever is lower. Please note that District Grant only supports projects which must not have started already and should be completed by 31 March 2017. The projects should also be initiated by the clubs themselves and not by a third party or other NGOs. There should be active participation by members of the clubs.
Please refer to the guidelines under the attached District Grants Application Form for 2016-17 and the attached Terms and Conditions for Rotary Foundation District Grants and Global Grants which is available at RI website via the following link:
Please do not miss out this opportunity to utilize District Grant funds to finance your projects. Though the fund available is not substantial and the competition for District Designated Fund (DDF) is strong, the whole idea of District Grant is to benefit the community and to promote Rotarian involvement in these humanitarian projects. You may also get recognition from our District and The Rotary Foundation (TRF) that in turn enhances profile of your projects.
District Grant funds come from our DDF. Your successful application of District Grant will demonstrate to your members that you do not just contribute to TRF but your own projects can also be benefited out of these contributions thus promoting Annual Giving by your members! So please work with your Community Service Director/Club Foundation Chair and start right away to plan for a good project making use of District Grant!
We look forward to your participation.
Yours in Rotary,
PP Vinci Hon

Dear All Club Presidents,
Global Grant Application Form
It is my honor and pleasure to be on behalf of DRFC to send the attached District Global Grant Application Form for this Rotary Year. Please retain this form for use as DRFC will not be responsible to send again to club Presidents when needed.
Please kindly be reminded that this form has to be submitted into the DRFC for all Global Grant applications, including those that may not require any DDF from our District.
Hence there are two forms that are needed to be submitted for those primary hosting clubs in our District, one being the RI Global Grant Application Form downloaded from RI Website, AND also this attached one. Otherwise, without this attached submission, the Global Grant Application will NOT be considered inspite of having a GG number assigned during application into TRF. For those being sponsoring club only, it is also required for submission of this attached application form.
Also please be noted that the deadline for the second stage and also the Final Stage is on 31 March2017. Any late submissions after 31 March 2017 will not be entertained unless special and particular reasons for its urgency and its lateness are provided during late submission, although such provisions does not guarantee that the late submissions will be entertained.
The passion to serve the needy for RI Theme, Rotary Serving Humanity is highly appreciated.
Thank you for the passion to serve.

Club Qualification 2016-2017
Thank you for your club representatives attending the Grant Management Seminar (GMS) on 21 November, 2015. I hope that they still remember how the grants model works and the club must complete the qualification process every year in order to apply for District Grant and Global Grant. As we are in the commencement of the Rotary Year 2016-2017 you should be planning the clubs’ district grant projects and global grant projects. In order to be qualified for 2016-2017, your club has to complete the same qualification process as below and attached:
1) Make sure you had more than one of your club members attended the GMS on 21 November, 2015. Attending the GMS is one of the requirements for qualification;
2) Confirm your club has opened a club controlled bank account solely for Grants purpose and it is operated by at least 2 Rotarians signing jointly. The requirement is applicable to the application for both the District Grant or Global Grant, but if your club is applying for Global Grant as an international partner only this requirement will be waived.
3) Arrange the President of 2015-2016, President of 2016-2017 and President of 2017-2018 to sign the MOU*; and
4) Prepare a written club financial management plan for 2016-2017 to provide consistent administration of the Grant funds. (If you need any help please let us know.)
*If you can get both the Presidents of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 to sign the MOU, your club will be qualified for only the District Grant. If you can get the 3 Presidents of 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 to sign the MOU your club will be qualified for both District Grant and Global Grant, but your club secretary must certify who is the President for 2017-2018 in the attached certification form.
If you have completed the attached or have any questions concerning qualification please send them either to PP Dominic Ko of email@example.com or PP Thomas Chan of firstname.lastname@example.org they will assist you to complete the process.
